The album that defined summer for the masses backs up its hype in quality. Despite it's density, the fun never lets up and Bad Bunny takes opportunities to push the reggaeton genre to new heights.

Another album that was a product of the pandemic, Hiki serves a combination of grand soundtrack anthems (get that coin) and wonderful therapeutic confessions backed by lush downtempo instrumentals spanning multiple genres.
7. Caprisongs - FKA Twigs

Twigs pivots from the dramatic art statement from Magdelene and allows herself to have fun and explore her culture, sensuality, mental health, and anything else that flowed free.
6. Nymph - Shygirl

Shy's debut direction is debatably alienating and genius all the same. I don't think she would have ever lived up to a true followup in Alias' sound, but this more downtempo sleek sexy sound while not always consistent is certainly memorable.

No one does pop punk revival like Avril. LS is bratty, flirty, and so tweeny its sick. The album flies through like a sugar high with endless replay value.
4. Ants From Up There - Black Country, New Road

Where "For the First Time" felt like a playground to try new ideas Ants feels a fully realized project with vast epics and amazing theatrics. Never a dull moment in this hour of content.

We don't need to go over the great post-irony in the album's rollout and execution. It's a fantastic pop project that defined the first half of the year for the gays.
2. MOTOMAMI - Rosalía

Love Mayo. Rosalía has not met a culture in Latin America she didn't like, and Tokisha's tether really pulled through with wonderful progression from El Mal Querer. The production is extremely eclectic, yet the album remains one of the years most cohesive.

A love letter to her black, queer fans and ballroom. Renaissance feels like a victory lap for said fans, and what's wonderful about this and any Beyoncé project is that she takes on no project without time, research, care and resources. The project was immaculately crafted front to back.
